PREMA played as PRIYANKA KRISHNAN
Priyanka gravitates towards coffee, bacon, and pleasantness. After earning her obligatory degree in Architecture (India), she firmly moved to New York, where she just graduated with a degree in Musical Theatre Performance (CAP21). She was recently cast in a music video from the 2015 Grammy® Winning album Winds of Samsara. In other news, she secretly hopes for the continued patronage of the Oxford comma - lest she be left to find her inspiration in baking, her family and George Carlin.
ARCHANA / MAA played by Radhika Mehrotra
Radhika Mehrotra is an economics graduate and a passionate method actress from India. She recently completed the two-year conservatory program at the Lee Strasberg Institute of Theater and Film. Radhika began acting at the age of eight, and has been acting since her school days. She has rendered performances in plays like The Dark at the top of the stairs, Norway Today , The Private Ear, Bang Bang You're Dead, Love Letters, Pune Highway and The Gronholm Method. She is extremely passionate about clowning and mask-work, and is currently performing at the NY Fringe Festival with her commedia dell’arte group in a piece called “The history of Servitude”. Radhika is super excited to be a part of this production and is extremely delighted to have worked with such a wonderful cast and crew.
WALTER KAUFMANN played by Jacob Pressley
BFA in Theatre from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. Ongoing training at Working Actor Studio in NYC. Jacob is happy to be working with Marcus and Shubhra again for The Music In My Blood. Jacob performs in various concerts at Feinstein's 54 Below and The Town Hall. Also, seen recently in Puccini's La Fanciulla Del West at El Museo Del Bario and the past role of Bobby Strong in Urinetown. KAMAL played by Raj Chauhan
Raj has played roles from Chekhov, Tennesee Williams, Ernest Hemingway, Lanford Wilson and
many other contemporary works during his training. He has written, directed and acted in his own short
music film - Sing Along. He has also acted in half a dozen other short films. Raj is trained in Acting from the Lee Strasberg Institute, NY and in Filmmaking from New York Film Academy. He has worked with and trained by eminent actors/directors/teachers like George Loros, Robert Ellermann and Mauricio Bustamante. Raj also holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Born and brought up in India, Raj, who is Bollywood at heart, has travelled for work from Dubai to Singapore and came to New York to pursue his dreams. He loves to write/ recite poems in English, Hindi and Marathi. He takes his dance seriously and is also performing at Tamasha festival with Dance-Drama-Dramatics. He enjoys singing, cooking, playing cricket and badminton. Raj wishes to touch many lives through the art he creates and stories he tells or is a part of.
VIKRAM played by Vaibhav Jain
A recent graduate of the conservatory program at the Stella Adler Studio of
Acting, Vaibhav was last seen playing Peter Patrone from The Heidi Chronicles for his graduation showcase. After 4 years of working in advertising and an MBA from Germany, he decided to move to New York City in 2015 to pursue acting. In his free time, Vaibhav can be found teaching yoga & meditation, trying to unravel the mysteries of our existence and creating surreal art.
