ABOUT THE SHOW
“3-2-1” is a contemporary dance production presented by Rohan Bhargava/Rovaco Dance Company. The program features three dancers in three different works titled Kool Kids (World Premiere), Havas, and The Devil’s Advocate (commissioned by Mare Nostrum Elements). Performed by Nico Gonzales, Mariel Harris, and Jared McAboy, this dance show is filled with physical movement, exciting theatrics, sprawling narratives, and engaging music.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Rovaco Dance was founded in June, 2015 in New York City. It operates under the artistic direction of Rohan Bhargava, and has showcased work at Tisch Alumni Show 2015, South Asian International Performing Arts Festival, Intimate Series, HATCH Presenting Series, Mare Nostrum Element's Emerging Choreographer Series, J. Luce Foundation's Leadership Awards Reception, and Triskelion Arts; Comedy in Dance Festival, WAXworks, and Never Before, Never Again Festival. The company produced its first evening length show in April 2016 and it will be touring to Provincetown and Texas this fall as well as performing in various festivals in and around NYC.

ABOUT THE CHOREOGRAPHER
Rohan Bhargava, born and raised in New Delhi, India, began his formal dance training at The Danceworx Academy of Performing Arts. In 2012, he relocated to New York City to pursue his B.F.A in Dance from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU. He has performed in works by Bill T. Jones, Sean Curran, Deborah Jowitt, Patrick B. Corbin, and Laura Peterson, and currently, he dances with Cameron McKinney/Kizuna Dance. Rohan is the Founder and Artistic Director of Rovaco Dance Company. As an emerging choreographer, he has won an award for Best Choreography at the South Asian International Performing Arts Festival and received commissions from The Moving Beauty Series and Mare Nostrum Elements. Currently, Rohan holds the title of Artist-in- Residence 2016 for the James Jay Dudley Luce Foundation. 

ABOUT THE DANCERS 

Nico Gonzales
Nico Gonzales, a Colorado native, started his early dance training at Denver School of the Arts, and under Brian Young and Tami Bing. He holds a BFA in Dance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and has performed works by Renee Redding-Jones, Pamela Pietro, Merce Cunningham, and Bill T. Jones. Through summer intensives Nico has also danced in pieces by Marlies Yearby, Alex Ketley, Christian Burns, Brenda Way/KT Nelson, and Ohad Naharin. Apart from working at Rovaco Dance, Nico also performs with Bryn Cohn + Artists and produces his own collaborative work.

Mariel Harris
Mariel Harris began dancing in her hometown of Vancouver, WA. She formally trained at The Joffrey Ballet School and The Alonzo King LINES Training Program, and has attended numerous summer intensives including Vienna's ImpulsTanz, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, LINES, and The Rock School. She holds a BFA in dance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and has studied abroad in Austria at SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance). She has performed works by Bill T. Jones, Merce Cunningham, Pamela Pietro, Kara Davis, and Brian McSween. Currently, Mariel dances with the Sean Curran Dance Company and Rovaco Dance Company.

Jared McAboy
Jared McAboy began his dance training in Kent, Washington at Allegro Performing Arts Academy. He has attended the Juilliard Summer Dance Intensive and the LINES Summer Ballet Program, where he performed works of Bret Easterling and Dexandro Montalvo. Jared holds a B.F.A. in Dance and a minor in Mathematics from New York University. He has had the opportunity to perform in works by James Martin, Jose Limon, Vita Osojnik, and Neil Schwartz. Currently Jared performs for Natalie Johnson Dance along with Rovaco Dance Company.
